Flor de Venezuela

Located at Barquisimeto state in Venezuela, as its name says, is the flower of Venezuela. This structure is the work or the arquitect Fruto Vivas, born in the Lara state. As recently opened, this structure became a cultural icon and a representation ofVenezuela to the world. It has three different levels, which carry out various cultural activities.

The Work has three levels: the first one is called PaĆs, an exibition on themes related to the nation, the second is the Cultura level, dedicated to demonstrations and traditions typical of Lara and integrated by the Del Barro al Metal exibition, designed with wasted materials, and a sample of orchids and frresh water aquariums with fish of the region. The third level consists of an exibition in homenage to nature, with Lara ecosystems, consisting of 13,000 plant and an amphitheater for more than 180 people, which will offer year-round lectures, concerts and conferences, among other activities, and this level is called Planta level.

In the first picture we see how the lighting of the flower works. On the roof we see an accent lighting. The roof is designed like the petals of a flower, and as it wasn't enought the incredible structure, colored lights are placed to accentuate the petals. Around the halls is white light, which is general lighting, for visitors to walk without difficulty.

To access this great work of art, the three approaches are used, frontal, oblique and spiral. This is used because being an important place in Venezuela, a center that will invite and host a lot of people, it must have different ways to enter and in the easiest way possible.

The circulation within the flower is horizontal and vertical. The last is to access the highest levels, and to access, via ramps, at main entrance that is more elevated than the street level. On the horizontal circulation, with a round base structure, visitors move through it in circles, with corridors and open spaces, preventing any floor or space collapse in the presence of lots of people at the same time.

This work is certainly something to be proud of.
